On Monday, 27th of July 2026, our whole team from the Chair of Machine Learning in Medicine came together for a joint excursion in Bayreuth. Fitting for the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuther Festspiele, we participated in a historical guided tour focused on the city's history, the influence of Margravine Wilhelmine, and the life of Richard Wagner. The tour took us past some of the city's most important historic buildings, such as the Margravial Opera House, Villa Wahnfried, and the Neues Schloss, before ending at the Stadtkirche. It was a great opportunity for the whole team to spend time together outside the university and learn more about the city of Bayreuth. To finish the excursion, we had a great lunch at the traditional restaurant Oskar am Markt.
