01.07.2026
Saber Jelodari Mamaghani from the Chair of Machine Learning in Medicine has been nominated for the 2026 "Goldene Kreide" (Golden Chalk). The award is presented annually by the Student Council for Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (Fachschaft MPI) at the University of Bayreuth to recognize excellence in teaching, based entirely on student nominations.
During the past academic year, Saber Jelodari Mamaghani led the practical exercises for the course Time Series and Machine Learning and supervised Bachelor's and Master’s students in the Machine Learning in Medicine seminar. His instruction focused on the application of predictive forecasting algorithms and the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Reflecting on the nomination, Saber noted his appreciation for the students' engagement:
"Knowing that this nomination comes directly from the students is a great honor. My primary goal was to make these advanced topics accessible. I want to thank all the students who participated this semester for their insightful questions.."
The nominees and winners were recognized at the Fachschaft MPI award ceremony on July 1, 2026.
The Chair congratulates Saber on this nomination and thanks him for his ongoing commitment to student education in our department.
